Bruce Hentges announced Thursday he is withdrawing as a candidate for the District 742 school board election.

Hentges cited personal reasons and potential conflicts with his work as executive director of the Local Education & Activities Foundation as reasons for his withdrawal.

LEAF is the District’s education foundation that distributed over $132,000 in grants to academic, activities, arts and athletic programs during the past school year.

The five remaining candidates, Jerry Von Korff, Bruce Mohs, Peter Hamerlinck, Michael Conway and Hassan Abdullahi Yussuf are vying for three open seats in the November, 4th general election.
