St. Cloud State University has received Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award for the third time.

The award recognizes the university as a school having an exemplary diverse community of students of more than 80 countries. These efforts include gender, race, ethnicity, veterans, people with disabilities, members of the LGBT community and others.

St. Cloud State President Earl Potter says his intention is to build a healthy, multi-cultural community where students can develop global and cultural understanding.

The publisher of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine Lenore Pearlstein says “We hope the HEED award serves as a way to honor those institutions of higher education that recognize the importance of diversity an inclusion as part of their everyday campus culture.”
