A man is currently being held at Stearns County Jail on charges of 1st degree assault after allegedly shooting a man Saturday afternoon.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says deputies responded to a call at 200 3rd Street in Holdingford informing them of a man shot in the abdomen. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies arrested the suspect, a 67-year-old Edwin Vail of Holdingford.

The victim was treated at the scene and flown to North Memorial hospital for a complete treatment.
