Archived: Interstate 94 Ramp Changes To Start Near Monticello Tuesday
A new route will be available for travelers on eastbound I-94 into Monticello beginning Tuesday.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the Highway 25 ramp will be permanently open starting at 8 a.m. while the ramp from eastbound I-94 to County Road 18 temporarily closes.
Motorists can expect slowdowns on I-94 in both directions with speeds reduced to 55 miles per hour. The closures are part of the MnDOT project designed to improve traffic flow in the Monticello area on I-94 and surrounding roads.
Drivers can expect the following:
- The ramp from eastbound I-94 to County Road 18 will remain closed until further notice. Detours to the eastbound ramp at Highway 25 will be posted.
- Both ramps from Highway 25 to eastbound I-94 will remain closed until further notice. Drivers will be directed to Chelsea Road to County Road 18 to then access eastbound I-94.
