Stearns County Parks is breaking ground for a new swim quarry at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve.

Stearns County says the new swimming site will be more convenient than other quarries in the county because of its small, quieter, and family-oriented atmosphere. There will be no need for any lifeguard due to the shallowness of the quarry. Also, the county plans to make a gradual slope entrance.

Public are invited to the quarry Tuesday at 12:30 PM. It will happen at 1802 County Road 137 in Wait Park.
