Archived: Three St. Cloud Men Facing Assault Charges After Confrontation With Weapons Monday Night
Three St. Cloud men are facing 2nd degree assault charges after St. Cloud police responded to an incident involving weapons Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of University Drive Southeast.
Sergeant Jason Burke says the investigation revealed that 36-year-old Damon William Hunt confronted 25-year-old Joshua Alexander Olson over an alleged assault involving Hunt’s girlfriend Sunday evening. During the fight, Hunt displayed a knife which lead Olson to grab a spade shovel. Olson’s brother, 39-year-old Philip Lee Olson, then picked up a wood board. Philip Olson suffered a stab wound to his leg while Hunt suffered injuries from being hit with the shovel and board.
Both men received treatment at the St. Cloud hospital for their non-life threatening injuries. All three are currently being held for court at the Sherburne County Jail.
The alleged assault of Hunt’s girlfriend, a 36-year-old St. Cloud woman, is currently under investigation.
