A St. Cloud man is recovering after he had crashed his car into an apartment building.

St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says officers were called to the 1400 block of 12th Avenue North around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night.

Police found that a car driven by 24-year-old Aliya Ali Mohamed had crashed through a wall and into the living room area of a lower level apartment. The residents of the apartment were not in the living room at the time of the crash.

The apartment was found to be structurally sound after the crash, but was condemned by the city health department after their inspection found it to be unsanitary.

Mohamed received minor injuries in the crash but did not need medical attention.

Police are still investigating the crash and charges against Mohamed are pending.
