Archived: MN DNR To Conduct Well Samples In Wright County

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will be collecting water samples from about 90 wells throughout Wright County.

Over the next two months hydrogeologists from the DNR will be testing samples of water to determine how long the water has been underground. Residents in Wright County will be asked to participate in the sampling.

The DNR says the sampling will include collecting the water and measuring the depth of each well. The sampling is part of a water preservation program by the DNR.

Working closely with the Minnesota Geological Survey, the DNR is hoping to protect the long-term quality of the region’s surface and groundwater.

The findings of this sampling are set to be released in the DNR’s Ecological Water Resource Division in 2016.
