The Stearns County Sheriff’s office recorded various items being stolen from vehicles in the overnight hours last week.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says money and bank account paperwork were taken from a vehicle in the 41800 block of County Road 1 in Brockway Township Wednesday.

Sanner adds that three thefts happened Friday in the area of 5th Avenue Northeast in St. Stephen. Two Ipods, several power tools, cash and two handguns were stolen in these thefts. The guns were described as a Ruger Mark 1.22 caliber and a Ruger model 03313 9 mm pistol. Many other vehicles were searched but no missing items were recorded. All of the vehicles were unlocked at the time of the thefts.

Lieutenant Jon Lentz says a man wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt was spotted in the area where the guns were stolen.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind people that their vehicles should be locked during the overnight hours with valuables removed or hidden when left outside.
