The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office has added a brand new bloodhound to its K-9 team.

K-9 Deputy Freddie will join the sheriff’s office alongside his brother Deputy Aspen. Freddie is replacing Deputy Olivia who had died suddenly in December 2013 from natural causes.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office has been using bloodhounds to locate missing children and adults and they have played a big role in placing criminals behind bars.

The sheriff’s office says the K-9 program is supported by local citizens and businesses. Some of the costs associated with Deputy Freddie, including his training, have been covered by a $5,000 donation from Pleasureland.
