Archived: Minnesota State Patrol Unveils Annual May Click-It Or Ticket Campaign

The Minnesota State Patrol is stepping up their annual Click-It or Ticket seat belt campaign.

Minnesota State Patrol Sergeant Jesse Grabow says seat belt and child restraint violations will be targeted from May 19 through June 1, with extra attention focused on the Memorial Day holiday.

Grabow says Memorial Day is one of the top six dangerous holidays for drivers, being the number one deadliest holiday from 2009 through 2013.

Since many non-seat belt usage violations occur at night, the Minnesota State Patrol says about half of the enforcement hours will be targeted during 4 p.m. and 1 a.m.

The May Click-It or Ticket campaign is part of the state’s Toward Zero Death initiative, a program designed to create a safe driving culture in Minnesota.
