A man is facing 5th degree assault charges after allegedly punching another man in the face on a Metro Bus Monday morning.

St. Cloud police Sergeant Jason Burke says 68-year-old Dale Mathew Meyer was riding on a Metro Bus around 11th Avenue North and Northway Drive when the bus driver, a 50-year-old man, asked him not to be in a certain area of the bus when it was moving, per federal guidelines.

Meyer then proceeded to punch the driver in the face. Burke adds that the victim sought medical attention on his own after suffering minor injuries in the incident.

Meyer is currently being held in the Stearns County Jail. Burke says he was also trespassed from riding Metro Bus for a period of one year.
