Archived: A Sartell Motorcyclist Was Killed In A Crash Along County Road 75 Wednesday Night

A motorcyclist died Wednesday night due to injuries he suffered in a major car crash.

The St. Cloud Police Department says the victim is 20-year-old Taylor Richard Anderson of Sartell.

Officers rushed to the intersection of Co. Rd. 75 and Oak Ridge Lane after reports of a crash between a minivan and motorcycle just before 7 p.m.

Witnesses say a man on a motorcycle was riding in the southbound lane of Co. Rd. 75 at about 80 miles per hour when it struck a minivan that was turning to go north. He was thrown through the van’s driver side back window and out the passenger window.

The driver of the minivan, 71-year-old Jon Maier, from St. Cloud was not injured. He was the only person in the van. Police say Maier was in good physical condition and alcohol was not a factor.

After the accident, Anderson was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital Emergency Room for life threatening injuries. He died Wednesday night at the hospital at 10 p.m.

The southbound portion of Co. Rd. 75 was shut down from 22nd St. to Oak Ridge Lane while the State Patrol tried to recreate the crash.

There is an ongoing investigation.
