One man found in East St. Cloud last Saturday with a gunshot wound in his leg admits he accidently shot himself.

The St. Cloud Police Department says officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of Wilson Ave. SE. when they found a 25-year-old man who was shot. The man has not yet been named.

At first, he said he was approached and shot by an unknown suspect while sitting in his car.

While receiving treatment at the St. Cloud Hospital he admitted the gunshot wound was self-inflicted when his handgun accidently fired.

No one else was hurt, and police are investigating why the man originally lied.
