A woman has been cited for a semaphore violation after she ran a red light and struck another vehicle at the intersection of  Highway 23 and 14th Avenue SE Wednesday afternoon.

St. Cloud Police sergeant Jason Burke says 23-year-old Amanda Emily Trutwin, was traveling westbound on Highway 23 when she ran through a red light and struck another vehicle, driven by 54-year-old Mark Miles Nichelson of St. Cloud, who was southbound on 14th Avenue SE.

Nichelson was taken to St. Cloud hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.

Burke says a small child was also in the vehicle with Trutwin. The child and Trutwin both went to the hospital but were not assisted by ambulance.
