Archived: Albany Teenager Rolls His Vehicle Near Farming Township Wednesday Afternoon

A teenager was thrown out of his vehicle Wednesday afternoon after he rolled it just north of Farming Township.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says 19-year-old Mitchell Leyk of Albany appeared to be traveling East on 310th Street when he lost control of his vehicle on the gravel road and rolled numerous times.

A passerby saw the accident and called 911. When Albany Rescue and Melrose Ambulance responded to scene, Leyk was found face down in the ditch 20 feet from the vehicle. The teenager was taken by ambulance to the St. Cloud hospital.

Sanner adds that it seems Leyk was not wearing his seatbelt and speed may have been a factor in the accident.
