Archived: An Albany Man Is Being Held On $1 Million Bail On Allegations Of Shaking Two-Month Old Son

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) – A father accused of shaking his 2-month-old son causing fatal injuries is being held on $1 million bail in Stearns County.

32-year-old Robert Kaiser, of Albany, is charged with second-degree murder in the baby’s death. The infant died Wednesday at Children’s Hospital in the Twin Cities.

A criminal complaint alleges Kaiser shook his son Aug. 27, the same day he sent a text to the boy’s mother which said the infant was keeping him awake.

The complaint says Kaiser initially denied injuring the child. The St. Cloud Times says he later told investigators he had fallen while holding the baby.

An autopsy showed the child died from a traumatic brain injury.
