Archived: Arctic Blast To Produce Sub Zero Temps In Central Minnesota

Frigid temperatures will be the norm for the next few days according to St. Cloud State University Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman.

While the cold has eased somewhat with wind chills averaging around the minus 20 range, Weisman says the cold air will get worse in the overnight hours of Tuesday. Wednesday morning will see raw air temps around negative ten with a wind chill ranging from minus 40 to minus 25 degrees.

Weisman says the temperature will remain below zero for Wednesday and the National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning for the state lasting until 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Temperatures may warm a bit; however, Weisman is predicting the cold air to return once again Thursday night and into Friday.
