St. Cloud State University is showing a documentary called Children of the Civil Rights on campus Wednesday afternoon.

The School of Public Affairs and Department of Criminal Justice says participants can watch the film and have a discussion with its Director and Artist, Julia Clifford.

The documentary is about a group of kids who went into restaurants and asked for service. It never got violent or made national news, but in six years they turned around every restaurant except one before the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

The event starts at noon and finishes at 2 p.m. at the Atwood Theatre.
