St. Cloud State University is welcoming consuls from around the world to speak on a discussion panel Friday.

St. Cloud State’s Center for International Studies says the panel is a focus on education, trade and diplomacy.

The session will include a question-and-answer session with Mexico Consul General Gerardo Guerrero, China Consul General Hon Lei, Spain honorary Consul General Maria Antonia Calvo, and SCSU Political Science Professors Linda Butenhoff and Edward Greaves. A consul is an official appointed by their government to live in a foreign city to protect their country’s interests.

In honor of SCSU’s late President Earl H. Potter III, the panel is part of International Education Week. It’s a celebration of international education.

The Q and A will begin at 1 p.m. Friday in the Atwood Memorial Center Theatre at SCSU. If you can’t attend in person, you can watch online.
