Archived: Coon Rapids Man Sent Airborne In Car Collision On Highway 10
A vehicle went airborne after a 3-car collision on Highway 10 near Main Street Northwest in Elk River Monday evening.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident occurred when 66-year-old Steven Thornton of Elk River and 43-year-old Mark Phillips of Big Lake were both driving westbound on Highway 10 when they were both rear-ended by 27-year-old Kevin Sutton of Coon Rapids.
Sutton would then continue westbound on Highway 10 before hitting a sign and going airborne over an embankment and ending on the middle of the intersection.
Sutton was treated for non-life threatening injuries while Phillips and Thornton suffered from no apparent injuries.
