SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. – St. Cloud Crush girls’ basketball went on the road Tuesday and beat Sauk Rapids-Rice, 63-43. It’s the first win of the 2025-26 season for the Crush in their first Central Lakes Conference game.

The Crush had their hands full with the Storm’s Brooklyn Widmer, who scored 23 points. However, the Crush countered with strong defense and hustle, holding the rest of the Storm to just 20 points. The Crush forced a multitude of turnovers and shot well from deep to win comfortably.

Youth led the way for St. Cloud, as their leading scorers, sophomore Jaleyah Ceasar and eighth grader Claudia White each scored 14 points. Helping the cause with 10 points was junior Sydney Shamla and freshman Menna Opiew scored nine.

The Crush improve to 1-1 on the season, they are back home on Thursday against Bemidji. Thursday’s game is set for 7:15 p.m. at St. Cloud Apollo High School. Coverage of the contest will be on 97.5 FM RadioX.
