Archived: Death of St. Cloud Child Last September Ruled Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office has ruled the death of a 22-month-old St. Cloud boy last September a homicide.

The medical examiner said Monday that Billy Rebel Chapman died of multiple blunt-force injuries. He died Sept. 1 at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
 
St. Cloud police were called August 30 to a home located in the 1300 block of University Drive Southeast about a 22-month-old boy who was not responsive after a reported fall inside his home. Police say the boy suffered substantial head injuries. He was transferred from the St. Cloud Hospital to the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital where he later died.
 
Police on Monday said they are still investigating the boy’s death and that no one has been arrested. No other details were released.St. Cloud Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the death of a toddler last summer as a homicide.
