Archived: DNR Hosting Third Advisory Meeting For Sand Dunes State Forest Monday
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will hold the third monthly steak holders advisory meeting Monday, and is looking for feedback about the management of the Sand Dunes State Forest.
Covering about 11,000 acres, the state forest north of Elk River was established in 1945. The DNR says they created the steak holder advisory group in June in an effort to involve the public in the decision making process at the forest. At the August meeting they are planning to talk about the recreational opportunities and the roles of recreation management at the park.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the Lions Park Center in Elk River. All meetings will be open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.
