Largemouth bass regulations placed on two Stearns County lakes in 2006 may be made permanent.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says the regulations on Long and Crooked Lakes allow anglers to keep bass more than 20 inches long and release the fish between 12-20 inches.

Since 2006, the average size of largemouth bass has increased and will continue to grow if the regulation is continued.

The DNR is looking for public opinion about making the regulations permanent at an upcoming meeting. People are invited to speak up about the proposal Thursday, October 15 at Lynden Town Hall in Clearwater. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
