An Elk River man died in a broadside crash on the west side of Highway 10 Saturday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol says just after 12:30 in the afternoon 18-year-old Steffen Salfrank of Elk River was heading west in his Chevy truck on Highway 10 and ran a stop light and hit a Nissan driven by 63-year-old Daniel Vaughn of Elk River.

As a result of the crash, Vaughn died at the scene. Salfrank did not receive any injuries. Elk River Police Department and Sherburne County Sheriff Office assisted the State Patrol in the incident.
