Indigenous Survivance Art Exhibit at CSB-SJU

Aug 29, 2022 - Oct 29, 2022

The College of St. Benedict and. St. John’s University Fine Arts programming presents the exhibit Indigenous Survivance.

Indigenous Survivance is an art exhibit that highlights the work of several of Minnesota’s premiere Native artists. Vibrant works, in a number of mediums, tell the story of Native people, drawing on traditional wisdom and knowledge to impact contemporary issues and movements. Lakota and Ojibwe artists Pat Kruse, Annette S. Lee, Steve Premo, Laura Youngbird and Jonathan Thunder share their works to educate others about what it means to be Native and to inspire a whole new generation of Native artists to create art for continued Indigenous Survivance.

The exhibit is at the Alice R. Rogers and Target Galley in the St. John’s Art Center, which is open Tuesday through Saturday from 2 – 6 p.m. and Thursdays from: 2 – 8 p.m.

There is a reception taking place Thursday, September 8th, 5-7 P.M.
