Fourth Annual SCSU Community Garden Pickling Event


The SCSU Community Garden is hosting its 4th annual pickling weekend with a big goal to can over 500 quarts of delicious pickles using the campus kitchen!
Preparation will begin on Friday, August 1 at 10:00 a.m. They’ll need at least 12 volunteers to help wash and sort 10 bushels of cucumbers and prepare garlic and dill for the pickle brine.
On Saturday, August 2, beginning at 10:00 a.m., they’ll need at least 12 volunteers to help pack quart jars with cucumbers for canning.
No experience? No problem! The Community Garden will provide clear instructions and all the tools you need. Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to help.
This event is not only a great way to support the Community Garden, but also a fun way to connect with others and help raise funds for our future projects.
