Great River Arts Present Author Michael Lyons

Great River Arts in Little Falls is presenting author Michael Lyons.
Interested in learning more about Ojibwe culture? Join them for a presentation by Michael Lyons, author of Ojiberish: An Introduction to Ojibwemowin, a children’s book on learning the Ojibwe language. He also hosts the podcast Boozhoo Nanaboozhoo, which uses music and puppetry to teach about Ojibwe language, culture and history.
Lyons focuses on Native American History (specifically the Indian Boarding School era), historical and inter-generational trauma: “How to survive the boarding school survivors”, Indian Education – Columbus to A.I.M. and the forgotten warriors of WWII, Combating depression and anxiety the traditional Ojibwe way: “You don’t have to be sad all the time,” Ojibwe language and culture revitalization. You’ll learn how to say “blueberry pie” in Ojibwe the musical way, and much more.
The presentation is free and open to the public and families on Thursday, January 27, stating at 7 p.m. at Great River Arts.
