The Stearns History Museum is hosting a creative fundraising baseball event called “History on Deck.”

The night is to celebrate and recognize John Decker, a more than 40-year employee of the museum and their archivist. He’s receiving the Zapp Historian award with a celebration prior to the baseball game between the Cold Spring Springers and Farming Flames baseball teams at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.

A pre-game community picnic begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 24th with music with Dave Cofell, food and drinks. Then at 7 p.m. he’ll throw out the first pitch. The History on Deck event is also a fundraiser to endow the museum’s archives for years to come, to benefit the Stearns History Museum’s Research Center.

Tickets are available at the museum, online or on June 24th for the baseball game only.
