The Whit Gallery is presenting a retrospective on artist Mick Benson.

At age 88, Mick Benson has been contributing to the St. Cloud arts community for decades, an they are featuring his work as part of an effort from his community and patrons.

Among his favorite subjects to paint are historic buildings and he also likes to paint landscapes, flowers and mundane but fascinating machines from the past, redolent of history and a vanished life, such as steam-engine tractors.

Drawing and painting, Benson  believes, helps people to see and to appreciate what is around them in their lives.

You can enjoy a retrospective of his life’s work in a series of events from November 1 – 13 at the Whit Gallery, located on West. St. Germain Street in downtown St. Cloud.

(There is a reception for Central Minnesota Watercolorists (and General Population), Thursday, November 11, from 4-6 p.m. and a Closing Reception for General Public, on Saturday, November 13 from 3-6 p.m.)
