A structure was engulfed by a fire Friday afternoon near Sartell.

Stearns County Sheiff John Sanner says deputies received a report of a structure fire along County Road 1 in Le Sauk Township at 4:40 p.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, the house was ablaze.

The homeowner, 65-year-old Walter Ronald Johnson, was not inside the building at the time of the fire. Johnson says no one has used the home for nearly five years. He has used it as storage for his personal property.

The home completely burned in the fire. No other injuries were reported. The cause of fire is not determined.

Sartell Police and Fire Departments as well as Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud Fire Departments assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
