Illegal fireworks are believed to be the cause of an ATV fire late Friday night.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says deputies along with the Avon Fire Department were called to a fire in the 18000 of County Road 154 in Avon Township around 11:15 p.m. July 4.

The ATV and trailer owned by 58-year-old Scott Michaletz was engulfed in flames when deputies arrived. The ATV and trailer were a complete loss. No one was injured in the fire.

Deputies say fireworks left in the trailer attached to the ATV were the likely cause of the fire.

The fire remains under investigation.
