Archived: Foley Plant Workers Hospitalized After Inhaling Fumes
FOLEY, Minn. (AP) – Authorities say workers at a Foley company were taken to the hospital after inhaling fumes from a cleaning solution.
Foley Fire Chief Mark Pappenfus says the department got a call just before 10 p.m. Saturday that a number of employees at PouchTec Industries had inhaled a harmful cleaning substance.
Pappenfus says "multiple" people were taken to St. Cloud Hospital. The St. Cloud Times reports the number of patients and condition reports were unavailable Sunday morning from the hospital.
Maintenance workers had cleaned up the substance before firefighters arrived.
PouchTec Industries is a food and liquid packaging company. The Foley Fire Department and the company are investigating.
