Governor Mark Dayton has decided not to include additional funding at this time in his proposed budget for the state’s largest system of higher education.

Dayton says his decision is based on the disagreements about the Charting the Future strategic plan. MnSCU administrators and the Minnesota State College Faculty organizations issued a joint statement saying they take the governor’s decision to not increase his support of MnSCU very seriously.

MnSCU leadership and the faculty leadership say they are taking the necessary steps to resolve their disagreement about Charting the Future and look forward to working with the governor on developing a budget that meets the needs of students and state of Minnesota.
