Archived: Heavy Snow In Southern Minnesota Is Affecting Road Conditions
Central Minnesota narrowly missed a band of heavy snow that covered southern Minnesota.
St. Cloud State University Professor of Atmospheric Sciences Bob Weisman says the snow storm dropped over 3 inches in Rochester, nearly 5.5 inches in Sioux Falls, and 6 inches in Austin.
While the heavy snow did not make it to St. Cloud, dropping temperatures and slight flurries are affecting road conditions in central Minnesota.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a 60-year-old women lost control of her car on I-94 Wednesday morning. She was headed west when she hit a patch of ice and spun into the median. She was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Weisman predicts temperatures will continue to get colder throughout the week.
