Archived: Highway 10 Ramps Close As Part Of Major Construction Project In St. Cloud
Drivers in St. Cloud should be aware of delays along eastbound Highway 10 starting Monday.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says both ramps connecting the highway and Benton Drive South will close at 7 a.m. until July 3rd. Detours will be posted. Drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly or seek alternate routes.
The ramp closures are part of a larger construction project to be completed in July 2015 resulting in a smoother roadway on the highway. Below is a list of current and planned traffic changes:
- Highway 10 between East St. Germain Street and County Road 33 is one lane in each direction with head-to-head traffic switched to the eastbound side of the road.
- The temporary ramp from westbound Highway 10 to County Road 29 is now open.
- The ramp from westbound Highway 10 to County Road 3/Golden Spike Road and the loop from County Road 3/Golden Spike road to westbound Highway 10 are closed until further notice. The signed detour follows County Road 29 and 10th Avenue.
MnDOT adds all lanes of Highway 10 are expected to open by May 22 for Memorial Day weekend travel. After the Memorial Day holiday, Highway 10 will again be reduced to a single land in each direction with all traffic on the westbound side of the road while the eastbound Highway 10 lanes and ramps are reconstructed.
