Archived: Highway 169 Near Milaca Reduced To a Single Lane For The Summer

Construction on the northbound lanes of Highway 169 will reduce traffic to a single lane starting Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says Highway 169 between County Road 11 and the Rum River rest area will be closed and traffic will be moved to a narrow, temporary lane with a reduced speed limit.

Drivers of heavy equipment such as farm or freight vehicles should be aware that the temporary lane has a 10-foot width restriction. Any vehicle that is wider than 10 feet risks damaging infrastructure put in place. Any driver who damages construction areas may be held responsible for the damages under state law.

Drivers approaching the Highway 169 work zone should slow down, be prepared to stop, obey the reduced speed limit and watch for crews and heavy equipment. Construction is expected to be completed in August. For more information on this road closure and more visit MnDOT’s website.
