Rain and wet ground conditions are causing scheduled road work on Highway 55 to be delayed.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says road work on Highway 55 between Rockford and Maple Lake was scheduled to be completed by May 14. However, due to current weather conditions, that project won’t be finished until Friday, May 23.

Highway 55 will be reduced to one lane during non-rush hours in several spots. Flaggers will allow one-way alternating traffic through work zones.

Closures will occur from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
