Archived: KVSC Celebrates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

KVSC presents special programming on Monday, Jan. 16 to honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior.

KVSC News will feature a segment starting at 12:30 p.m. during the Newswatch program from Peace Talks Radio. The program takes you on Dr. King’s journey of nonviolence and his legacy as a peace proponent. You will hear from his daughter, Yolanda King and one of King’s colleagues, Dr. Dorothy Cotton.

At 4:30 p.m. we’ll feature a special edition of Making Contact that examines King’s anti-war beliefs as well as what he called the triple evils: racism, economic exploitation and militarism.

In a musical tribute, KVSC will suspend regular programming to broadcast music that spotlights African American artists, our way to celebrate King’s legacy.

We invite you to make our tradition of celebrating Dr. King your tradition as well—all day Monday, and only from Your Sound Alternative 88.1FM, KVSC.

Thank You Underwriters
