A large marijuana growing operation has been found at 58th Avenue in St. Cloud.

 

After receiving a search warrant and conducting a search, Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force investigators found an active marijuana growing operation in the house of 36-year-old Daniel Lommel of St. Cloud. Over 95 plants in various stages of growth were found. In addition, a loaded shotgun was found in one of the growing rooms as well as $5,700 in cash.

 

Sheriff John Sanner says investigators from the task force to speak with Lommel about a citation he had received from a Stearns County Sheriff. When they arrived to the home, officers say they noticed a strong smell of marijuana and also observed signs of marijuana in plain view.

 

Lommel hasn’t been formally arrested yet, but is expected to be charged with 5th degree controlled substance violations, and the cash is subject to forfeiture proceedings.
