A St. Cloud man was hospitalized after being hit by a car on 9th Avenue South Monday night.

St. Cloud Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says 21 year-old Johnathan Marcus Ferguson was walking on the crosswalk at 4th Street South just before 10 p.m. when he was struck by a car traveling southbound.

The driver, 70-year-old Elaine Mary Walker, ran into Ferguson as he was almost completely across the road. She received a citation for failing to yield a pedestrian’s right of way.

Ferguson was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
