Metro Bus Mobility Training Center in St. Cloud will host a conference asking for an increase in funding for transportation in the city.

Chair of Transportation Forward, Dave Van Hattum, says the city needs to receive more funding to improve its transportation system, mobility, economic health and quality of life. Local authorities and leaders say the city needs to upgrade its transportation system.

Hattum adds some people have limited access to transportation in suburban areas of Greater Minnesota. There is also a need to have reliable bus service, more walking and bicycling path. Roads and bridges are aging and need to be repaired.

The conference will take place at the Metro Bus Mobility Training Center at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
