A motorcyclist raced through a yellow light and crashed into a St. Cloud man’s truck Tuesday afternoon, sending him to the hospital. 

St. Cloud Police Commander Jeff Oxton says 32-year-old Chad Allan Olson of St. Cloud was driving southbound on Roosevelt Road. While trying to make a left turn onto 22nd Street South he was hit by a motorcycle driven by 36-year-old Cory Andrew Kukowski of Sartell. Kukowski was driving northbound on Roosevelt Road and tried to go straight through the intersection.

Oxton says an investigation shows Kukowski sped up to try and make the yellow light causing his motorcycle to crash into Olson’s truck shortly after 4 p.m.

Kukowski was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, and he also received a citation for violating a traffic control signal. In addition, he was cited for driving after revocation, no proof of insurance and expired registration.
