A Paynesville man was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident Friday just after midnight.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says 22-year-old Joshua Paul Schmitt was hurt when he missed a bend in the road and swerved into the ditch. He was driving west on Norway Road in Avon Township, which is east of Avon.

Officers do not believe alcohol is a factor.

Schmitt was taken to the St. Cloud hospital with serious injuries.
