With the Great Minnesota Get-Together kicking off on Thursday, the Northstar Link wants to remind fair-goers of alternative forms of transportation to and from the fair.

Visitors to the Minnesota State Fair can take the Northstar Link Commuter Bus from St. Cloud and Becker and connect with the Northstar Commuter Rail in Big Lake. Riders then can take the train to the Fridley Station where the State Fair Express bus will leave every 30 minutes.

Director of Planning and Marketing for Metro Bus Tom Cruikshank says the Northstar Link will be honoring Metro Transit’s Northstar Roundtrip Family Pass so families can travel to and from the State Fair with only having to pay once.

There will be no extra Northstar services planned to accommodate state fair traffic, so riders are encouraged to plan ahead.
