Artists’ Group Seeks funding for Sartell Paper Mill Memorial Project

Formerly known as the Verso Paper Mill, the Sartell Mill closed its doors after a major explosion on May 29, 2012, that took the life of one employee and required fourteen area fire departments to eventually extinguish.  In this installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, Arts and Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack joins a group of artists, Sartell city officials, and construction workers as they discuss the best way to memorialize the Sartell Paper Mill.  Currently, the City of Sartell is working with area artists, including project head Heidi Jueb, in developing artistic ways to remember this local economic icon and landmark before it is completely demolished and has vanished from our horizon.

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
