Augsburg Professor Bill Green Talks About Book Degrees of Freedom: The Origin of Civil Rights in Minnesota 1865-1912
In this Untold Story of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack talks with Augsburg College professor Bill Green as he makes his way to town to give a presentation at the Granite City Book Club’s September 2016 meeting. Green’s book Degrees of Freedom: The Origin of Civil Rights in Minnesota 1865-1912 chronicles the changing landscape of the black experience in Minnesota following the Civil War and was awarded the 2016 Hognander Minnesota History Award.
