St. Cloud State University President Earl H. Potter III presented his Spring Convocation address to university faculty and staff on January 9, 2014.

Among the many topics President Potter addresses, he reminisces about the roots of the University that started in 1869 as the St. Cloud Normal School. He explains through snippets of history, how the University has continued to grow and change academically and culturally, and most importantly becoming a richly diverse and global campus community.

President Potter also touched on how the University has been responsive to the change of communication habits of current students and how SCSU has been ahead of the curb in the world of social media. Other topics included in the convocation are MNSCU’s Charting the Future plan, Martin Luther King Jr. and saying goodbye to a long time employee of SCSU.
