The Search for Fort Holes, Dakota Conflict Era Settlers Fort, Begins on the SCSU Campus

Today’s Untold Stories of Central Minnesota is about a critical St. Cloud building that hasn’t existed for over 100 years and the Minnesota Historical Society grant to find it. The project “Fortifying St. Cloud: Searching for Fort Holes, a Dakota Conflict Era Settlers Fort” got underway in September 2015 on the St. Cloud State University campus.

The project is led by Anthropology professor Dr. Rob Mann and graduate student Charlie Peliska, and they join Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack to discuss the project and what it’s like to look back over a hundred years into the past.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Fund.
